Capabilities Enhancement Program

Soldier Systems D-MIL is pleased to announce our accelerated Capabilities Enhancement Program (CEP). Since 2018 SSD-MIL has been Reclaiming and Recycling optical grade Germanium metal scrap. We are nearing completion of our CEP which adds Zone Refining, Single Crystal Growth and Lens Blank Generation to our current Reclamation and Recycling operations. Enhancements include US-designed and built state-of-the-art, Zone Refining furnaces, Crystal Growth furnaces and Lens Blank Generators. Furnaces and generators feature ITAR compliant software and controls, with single crystal growth capacity of 330mm diameter.  Our Consolidated Recycle to Remanufacture operations will be housed in a new, purpose-built facility exceeding 10,000 square feet and 20,000 Kgs annual remanufacture capacity.  Phase I:   Zone Refining operations are underway in our current facility.  

Phase II: Crystal Growth, Blank Generation and consolidation of all operations in our new facility is on schedule to begin in 3rd qtr 2026.
